These cookies are designed to be rolled out, cut into shapes and iced and decorated any way that you like.

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line 2 baking sheets with baking paper.
Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl, mix in egg and Vanilla Bean Paste and then add the flour and baking powder
Remove dough from bowl and divide in half, rolling each half on a lightly floured surface until approximately 0.5cm thick.
Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10 minutes or until cookies are pale golden and the edges are just beginning to brown.
Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool completely on trays before icing them.
Mix all icing ingredients together in a large bowl until the icing is smooth and trails of the icing hold their shape for a few seconds. If needed, add a little more milk or sugar to reach the desired consistency.
